We are bombarded with claims about "reproductive rights for women", "my body, my choice", and others. The baby has half of the DNA from each parent, which is another problem with such arguments. In many cases, this is a political power grab by people who have had their consciences seared. Abortion is the ending of a human life, but many do not care and are even proud of murder. It is amazing and painful the way people are ignorant of who Adolph Hitler was and what he did. Some people are so ignorant, they never heard of him, or think he was a sports star! Some atheopaths are so full of hatred for God and Christians, they want to "give" him to us by claiming that Hitler was a Christian! This post is long overdue. I am going to go on record and say flat out that I am against abortion. If you have the courage, hear me out. Warning: This discussion is going to be very direct and some people may find it offensive. "Offended" in this case is wimp talk for "I can't handle the truth". My facts are confined to the United States. The principles still apply wherever you are, though. But first, I have to tell you that I am not so extreme that I say "no" to all abortions at all times. I've been pondering this for quite some time, and some recent observations prompted me to write about it. Remember about a year ago when I wrote about The Arrogant Atheist? Yes, then I did some other stuff that was similar. I've noticed that atheism (and its kid brother, agnosticism) and liberalism go hand-in-hand. It appears that there is an elitist approach to atheism. Why would someone claim to be an atheist? I can think of several reasons, including: Upbringing and bad educational experiences Bad experiences in life Cultural influences Political and social environment Peer pressure, or the desire to please other people Disappointment based on bad experiences in life (i.e., expecting God to be a grand Santa Claus in the sky, giving you whatever you want, whenever you want it) Elitism Moral choices It's the last two parts that I want to touch on today.
